Remote Mirroring of an Oracle Database Using Data Replicator Software
Scripts Verification Checklist
Each time you run the
sun_erm.ksh
script to remotely mirror an Oracle database, one
log file and one trace file generate in the
./LSI_ERM/logs
directory. Search these two
files for error and warning messages.
Troubleshooting
The scripts provide two types of log files:
·
Standard log file This log file lists any errors that occurred in the processing of the
scripts. The log file usually points to where the problem has occurred.
·
.trace
file This log file gives details on the exact command with the values of the
variables used within the command line. This log file also shows the results from the
command line.
To resolve an issue, consult with these two log files and determine if the problem is
apparent. If the problem is not apparent, try to run the exact command from the
.trace
file and then compare the results. The most common error is incorrect values within the
erm.conf
file.
If the volume copies have failed or have not been established, you may manually establish
the copies and rerun the
erm
script.
If the problem still cannot be determined, pack all the files from the
LSI_ERM
directory
and subdirectories and then send them to a Customer and Technical Support
representative.
