Junior Database Administrator
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Administration and support for 80-110 SQL Server instances in multiple data centers including Development, Test and Production Environment including both physical and virtual servers.
Perform SQL Server installations, configuration, upgrades and applying the latest patches.
Maintain and monitor database backup and restore processes; Review Daily and Weekly Maintenance jobs; Coordinate and ensure the data availability. Administer varieties of SQL Server jobs.
Work with scripts to automate SQL administration tasks.
Provide DBA support on existing SQL Server environments including change management, code releases. Work during non-business hours for system emergencies, production database releases and data migrations with minimal or no impact to company operations.
MS SQL Database development including designing, developing, testing and implementing databases, stored procedures, functions, triggers, indexes, and jobs. Responsible for reviewing the design and deployment of any data objects from development/staging to production.
Act as the first technical contact for database backup and restore requests.
Experience in Database Administration field with any SQL Server versions 2008-2017.
Demonstrated hands on experience with Backups, Restores.
Knowledge of High Availability, Always-On availability groups, Database Mirroring, Replication, Recovery Models is a plus.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention is a plus.
Experience with Performance Tuning and Query Optimization is a plus.
Experience in user security administration is a plus.
Experience with ELT process and development using Integration Services (SSIS).
Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on Database projects.
Knowledge of Reporting Services (SSRS) - development and deployment is a plus.
Knowledge of 3rd party backup and performance diagnosis and monitoring tools from IDERA and Solarwinds is a plus.
