SQL Server DBA
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
Undergraduate degree in computer science or related area of study
8+ years of professional development experience with SQL Server databases.
Database Administration for SQL Server installations which includes capacity planning, installing, upgrading and configuration
Database support will include day to day duties for proper database maintenance along with proactive measures to maximize the database availability and performance.
Migrating data to/from other data sources using DTS/SSIS/SSRS and deploying/maintaining packages/jobs.
Proficient with developing methods of loading large volumes of data automatically into a database
Identify and troubleshoot resource intensive operations on SQL Server.
Extensive experience in the development of stored procedures, triggers, views, functions
Experience with table partitioning strategies and related implementation
Proficient with interpreting query explain plans, reviewing data within tables and recommending indexing strategies
Experience with establishing methods for base-line database performance and measuring improvements with changes
Due to the nature of tasks the resource will be expected to work additional hours on need basis.
Experience with using source control(TFS)
Experience with Agile development practices and Scrum methodology
