Database Administrator, SQL Server
Responsibilities include:
Provide database administration support to internal Research and Development teams
Create and suggest indexes, data structures, in-memory tables, and other performance tuning concepts to incorporate best industry practices into the product suite
Assist in promotions, data conversions, back-up and recovery of local and remote databases
Contribute to best practices documentation and database sizing recommendations
Maintain data model documentation
Required qualifications:
2+ years as a database administrator or database developer
Experience querying and administering Microsoft SQL Server 2012/2014/2016, MCP preferred
Knowledge of Online Transactional Processing (OLTP) databases and/or Data Warehouse (OLAP) databases
Extensive experience with performance analysis and optimization tools and the ability to troubleshoot queries, suggest indexes or design modifications, and help to incorporate best practices of database design
Working knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services is considered an asset
Experience with other database platforms (e.g. Netezza, Teradata, RedShift) is considered an asset
Knowledge of ETL or BI tools (e.g. MicroStrategy) is considered an asset
Excellent teamwork and communication skills
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field is preferred
