Senior Systems Administrator/SQL DBA

Major Responsibilities:

Designs, installs, configures, maintains and performs system integration testing of Microsoft Operating Systems. Deploys new Microsoft SQL Database servers/Clusters including: Drive Configuration Role based permission Maintenance Plans (Backup, Index Rebuilds, DBCC etc...) Troubleshoots escalated server, software, and hardware issues. Recommends, schedules, and implements system hardware and/or software upgrades or repairs. Determines solutions to remediate recurring problems or automate recurring tasks. Analyzes and understands business requirements to insure optimal server architecture and infrastructure are put in place to assure high availability and recoverability. Monitors server environment for proactive assessment of performance and identification of potential resource bottlenecks. Performs capacity planning, performance optimization and preventative maintenance duties such as backup/recovery and tuning. Research, evaluate and recommend technology products and services. Provides training and support to users as appropriate. Participates in project activities and planning as needed. Develops and maintains system tools and scripts for automating or simplifying system administration tasks. Establishes and maintains contact with vendors for maintenance and service. Participates in the creation and maintenance of system administration best practices, technical standards, policies and documentation. Responsible for development and documentation of corporate policies and procedures as related to network, system, and device use and security. Provide second level help desk support. This requires resolution of user and network issues beyond the first level help desk expertise or security capabilities. Willing to travel 10-15% of the time. Requires some after hours support to include weekend work

Education/Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree or equivalaent work experience Microsoft Certifications VMware Certifications Experience working with PCI/HIPAA compliance

Required Skills/Knowledge:

Knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012/2014 (2016 desired but not required) Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2012 EMC backup and disaster recovery technologies including Avamar, Data Domain, and Recover Point EMC storage technologies including VMAX, Isilon, VNXe, XtremIO VMware vSphere 6.0u1 with vCenter Operations Manager, Site Recovery Manager and vSphere Replication Cisco UCS and HP c7000 blade server technology F5 load balancing and SSL certificate experience a plus
