Junior Database Administrator
Responsible for creating database structures based on physical designs for development, QA testing and production environments, as well as providing guidance to application development team. Provides data management support to include trace, backups/recovery, logins, replication, and best practices across multiple database systems such as Oracle, MySQL and PostgreSQL. Develop and document database components such as PL/SQL packages, procedures, functions, and views to interface with the middle tier components of in-house developed and supported applications. Monitors databases, assists with report development, and completes daily checklists to ensure appropriate parameters are alarmed, problems are caught prior to customer impact, and alarm events are resolved quickly. Provides on-call support for databases 24/7, including investigating, troubleshooting and resolving database issues.
Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience. Also requires three years’ experience of related systems administration experience.
