SQL Server or ORACLE DBA
Establish user application/database access and monitor their security authorizations.
Develop necessary modeling documentation and make available as needed.
Monitor the performance and manage the parameters to give fast responses to users.
Map out conceptual design for a database including the organization of data and the accessibility for users.
Perform tuning activities including partitioning strategies, indexing strategies, and SQL optimization
Map data elements of data sources into the domain data models
Install and test the new version of database management system.
Write documentation for a database to include data standards, procedures and metadata.
Control privilege and permission for access.
Maintain the stability of the company databases SQL Server, ORACLE.
Develop custom scripts to run against the database on an as needed basis for developmental purposes.
Troubleshoot and provide assistance for users pertaining to ERP Software access.
Assists in all aspects of implementation of normalized Relational and Multi-dimensional Data Models
Follow configuration and change management processes
Ensure data consistency and reuse by enforcing company-wide data standards.
Create and maintain the company-wide data warehouse.
Support the Computing Services organization in the monitoring and administration of daily computer system activities.
Review database development and maintenance project status with management.
Research information as needed through documentation, manuals, and online help via Internet.
Interface with software vendors to obtain information and support for problems, coordinate systems repair as required.
Research technical innovations and assist in planning for the future direction of the Company and department.
Continuously examine the processes and systems used in this function to improve the effectiveness and quality of the work done.
Perform other related duties as required.
Required Experience
Requires a Bachelor's degree with major course work in Information Science or a related field required, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of five years technical DBA experience required (preferable SQL Server and/or ORACLE). General knowledge of computer technology and computer languages, good understanding of data base theory and design principals, working skills in system design and development, and basic project management skills are required to perform the duties of this position.
