Oracle Database Administrator
Install, patch and upgrade the Oracle servers
Install and configure Oracle client on front-end servers
Allocating system storage and planning future storage requirements for the database system
Creating primary database storage structures (tablespaces) based on application needs
Creating primary objects (tables, views, indexes, etc.)
Modifying the database structure, as necessary, based on information provided by the application developer(s)
Enrolling users and maintaining system security
Ensuring compliance with US Navy’s Oracle enterprise license agreement
Controlling and monitoring user access to the database
Planning for backup and recovery of database information

Write database procedures, functions and triggers
Monitor application related jobs
Monitor scheduled tasks on the servers
Responsible for performance monitoring, database tuning, identification and correction of performance bottlenecks
Responsible for overall database reliability and availability including database architectures, upgrades, performance, and tools and software installation and maintenance and installation of application software germane to database repositories
Collaborate with software engineers, security administration, Computer Operations, Network Management, and System Administrators to ensure quality and integrity of databases, application software and data
Knowledge of the functionality of the web front end is required to better understand how the data is being called from the front end application
Serves as a backup to the .NET application developer
Experience with administration of multi-user databases and database management systems in mainframe or server based computer environment
Must have experience with Oracle version 11G and Oracle Client software
Applying quarterly Oracle patches, security patches (when necessary)
Program PL/SQL packages
5+ years experience: Database Admin-Other or SQL
Education:
Degree in a related field, or equivalent work experience
CompTIA Security + certification required
Oracle Database SQL Certified Expert or other Oracle certification required
