Database Administrator

Key Responsibilities

• Microsoft SQL Server database administration, including ensuring security and implementing failover, backup, and disaster recovery systems. • Microsoft SQL programming to migrate, transform, and merge data. • Microsoft SQL Reporting Services report development • IDPHSB data system development project management

Minimum Required Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or related field Experience: Five years of progressively responsible experience in database administration and SQL development

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Design, development and administration of SQL databases. • Working with PRISM and working knowledge of the PRISM software and SQL database. • Extracting and transforming data from EMR or other health data systems to create files for submission of client-level data to federal funders. • Developing data reports using Microsoft SQL Reporting Services based on end user needs. • Analyzing requirements and drafting specifications. • Managing IT development projects and the work of IT subcontractors and internal IT staff. • Planning and/or implementing electronic laboratory reporting. • Designing and implementing failover, backup, and disaster recovery systems. • Knowledge of the following information technology systems/structures/programming: Structured Query Language (SQL); Microsoft SQL Server 2008; Microsoft Visual Studio 2012/2008/2005/.NET; Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services 2008/2005; Microsoft Project 2010, 2007, 2003; Microsoft Visio 2010/2007; PRISM (Patient Reporting Investigation Surveillance Manager); Insight; VB.NET; Active Directory; JavaScript; XML; HL7; Requirements Analysis; Specification Development. Experience in Project Management. • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
