SQL Database Administrator
Duties and responsibilities
Developing database objects and structures for data storage, retrieval and reporting according to project specifications
Implementing and testing database design and functionality, and tuning for performance
Providing support to database administrators and interfacing with business users to ensure the database is satisfying business requirements
Designing and developing back-end database interfaces to web and e-commerce applications
Desired Skills and Competencies
Collaborative leadership skills
Strong understanding of SQL Server databases, related utilities and tools
Strong knowledge of physical database design
Ability to perform both database and operating system performance tuning and monitoring
Knowledge of database backup and recovery scenarios
Strong knowledge of SQL Server security management
Strong knowledge of how SQL Server acquires and manages resources
Strong knowledge SQL Server data integrity
A sound knowledge of both database and system performance tuning
Sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators
Ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines
Implement and maintain the database design
Create database objects (tables, indexes, etc.)
Write database procedures, functions and triggers
Tune database queries
Monitor application related jobs and data replication activities
Managing capacity planning, disaster recovery and performance analysis
Qualifications
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Minimum 5 years SQL Server DBA experience
Experience with SSRS
Experience with SSIS
MIS or Computer Science degree
