Oracle Database Administrator
Essential Position Responsibilities:
Creates logical database designs in coordination with software developers
Assists with designing physical database structures
Implements database structures
Participates on numerous application development projects with medium to high complexity
Performs capacity planning
Plans and executes performance tuning to support application service levels
Assist with researching, evaluating new tools and techniques
Assists with developing policies, standards, and procedures related to the database environment
Supports database backup and restore functions
Provides direction to other DBA’s
Coaches and mentors software developers on development of stored procedures
Reviews stored procedures for adherence to standards and performance requirements
Develops and maintains documentation
Performs other duties as needed
Provides operational monitoring and support
Exposure to SQL and/or noSQL technologies preferred
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Three or more years experience administering and designing Oracle server databases
Strong oral and written communication skills
Experience monitoring and coaching of DBA’s and software developers
Ability to work successfully both independently and in teams
Two or more years of database design experience
Two or more years of database tuning experience
Essential Job Requirements:
Report to work promptly when scheduled
Be able to work under supervision and accept feedback
Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite
Relate effectively and work respectfully with diverse work groups
Ability to consistently perform well during times of increased work load
Set and meet deadlines
Manage multiple job functions simultaneously
