Database Administrator
Responsibilities:
Monitor database health and performance
Deploy and possibly extend tools for automating backups, disaster recovery, and high availability
Perform version upgrades
Provide consultation services to other engineering teams around query optimization, schema design, and schema management
Capacity planning
Participate in an on-call rotation
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering or a related field
2-5 years of experience administering MySQL, Percona, MariaDB environments
2 years experience with a high-level language (php, ruby, java, python)
General knowledge of Linux administration
Advanced knowledge of InnoDB internals
Nice to Have:
Production experience with other RDBMS or NOSQL technologies
Experience working with Git or other source code management tools
Experience with automated configuration management (Puppet, Chef)
Experience with SAN technologies (Dell Compellent)
Familiarity with Percona toolkit
Experience with Hadoop ecosystem (Cloudera)
