Oracle or SQL Server DBA
Assists with design, documentation and set up of database infrastructure, including hardware and operating systems. Provides technical support for the database environment and supports internal teams in the use of databases.
Under the direction of senior database administration staff, assists with planning, design, installation and configuration of database systems and software. Develops applications for data migration and maintenance.
Proactively monitors database system operations and activity. Performs system maintenance. Troubleshoots and resolves system performance issues in accordance with established standards and procedures.
Maintains database documentation and security. Performs back-ups and restores and assists with disaster recovery planning and implementation.
Supports miscellaneous applications with client/server middleware.
Keeps up on industry trends and current technological standards, tools and operational considerations. Makes suggestions for process, implementation, and performance improvements.
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, from a four-year college or university, or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
A minimum of 1 year relevant experience in database administration, information systems, or equivalent technical environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of data structures and database management systems.
Demonstrated knowledge of a broad spectrum of infrastructure technologies and secure computing environments: network, hardware and operating systems, servers and storage.
Demonstrated understanding of Service Oriented Architecture and relational application design and development.
