SQL Database Administrator
Primary Responsibilities:
Manage the company's SQL Server and Oracle databases in a production environment utilizing SAN clustering and DR technologies.
Architect, implement, monitor and maintain database systems, data migration plans, data replication schemes and data interface projects
Install, set-up, configure, support and design the back-up and recovery of SQL Server and Oracle databases
Analyze and predict storage and performance trends
Predict and resolve database storage, performance, application and job issues.
Work closely with application development, server and storage groups to ensure optimal performance and efficiency
Participate in on-call support
Ensure proper setup, patching and security is performed on all database environments
Requirements:
2-5 years of database management experience with Microsoft SQL Server 2005, 2008 or 2012.
Demonstrated experience in database strategy, implementation and tuning.
Strong skills SQL writing skills.
Experience using ETL tools to migrate data.
Query optimization and tuning skills through query analysis and proper indexing
Experience in Microsoft and Oracle databases including tuning, D/R, design, application support, functions/procedures and clustering.
Preferred/Optional:
Administered VLDBs and knowledge of performance issues with them
Experience with other DB technologies, especially Oracle is a plus
Experience with SSAS is a plus
Experience with or administration of an SAP database
Worked with SAN technologies, preferably EMC.
