Senior Microsoft SQL SERVER DBA
Installation, Administration and Maintenance of SQL Server 2008/2012 instances
Troubleshoot various day-to-day problems that arise and fix issues
Monitoring Server Error Logs and check email alert or configure email alerts
Create Users and assign permissions (internal or via active directory roles)
Create Linked Servers to SQL Servers and other databases such as Oracle, Access
Design or Enhance database Backup, Recovery Strategy, and Monitor their activities
Ability to Setup database failover, Mirroring, Log Shipping and Replication
Develop, implement, and monitor performance tuning tasks (understand PowerShell)
Documenting changes and follow change control
Provide on-call support for the production environment and supporting development activities.
Clone Development, Test, and Staging environments from Production instances
Execute schema and code promotions Dev ->Test ->QA ->Prod
Keep databases in synch using (replication , mirroring, backup/restore , log shipping)
Programming in T-SQL when needed. (ability to write and debug code)
Works with application development staff in order to enforce standards, and quality assurance policies and procedures as it pertains to accessing corporate databases
Qualifications:
Education:
BS\BA degree in computer science or related technical field.
Experience:
7+ years experience administering Microsoft SQL Server 2008/2012
Oracle 11G a plus.
Professional Certification:
MCDBA certifications desirable.
