Oracle Database Administrator
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive consulting at highest technical level, ensuring efficiency and security.
In-depth working knowledge of relational databases (oracle), database management, database structures and design.
Support advanced database design, configuration and environments.
Acts as consulting resource in database administration
Advanced database performance and tuning.
Advanced skills in tuning SQL and PL/SQL coding.
Work with developers and testers for troubleshooting any Database related issues including DB performance.
Provide off hours support.
Researches and evaluates alternatives and recommends solutions for system design.
Test duties as analyst, without direction.
Support problem resolution; consult and advise on application design and tuning; plan, organize and execute product benchmarks for threshold and functionality.
Provide Data Administration support for the development and maintenance of production, stage, and test database environments for distributed applications.
Act as Team Lead. May be involved in providing assistance and training to junior level Database Analysts.
Operates with minimal supervision across multiple environments and platforms.
Confers with appropriate managers/application groups regarding problems with and capabilities of databases.
Required Qualifications:
7+ years related database administration experience including control and development of standards
5+ years of Oracle database administration
5 + years well versed with DBA concepts, performance tuning, maintenance, and design
5+ years skill and experience with Oracle on a UNIX platform
