Associate Database Administrator
Monitor database availability; ETL process status; maintenance routines; replication routines and BI tool availability.
Under the direction of management, design and code scripts to maintain databases (e.g. implement physical database parameters, code database descriptions and specify identifiers of database to database management system).
Assists BI Administrators in maintaining production ETL process and BI infrastructure.
Participates in the creation of standards and architecture design of the databases.
Prepare routine database management documentation and draft operational procedures.
Exercise discretion and independent judgement in database operational responsibilities.
Monitor and resolve database related help desk issues.
Knowledge & Skills:
Working knowledge of relational database concepts and operation (SQL Server, Oracle preferred).
Working knowledge of RDBMS queries and demonstrated skills in basic to intermediate SQL.
Exposure to ETL processes and tools (Microsoft SSIS, IBM Data Stage preferred).
Exposure to performance tuning of SQL Queries.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work in a team environment consisting of technology and business Professionals.
Ability to handle confidential, proprietary and security system issues.
Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Education & Work Experience:
Bachelorís degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science preferred.
Up to 2 years experience in the relational database systems (i.e., SQL Server, Oracle, DB2).
Up to 2 years experience in the underlying operating system (i.e. Microsoft Windows, UNIX).
Up to 1 year experience in ETL concepts, process and tools.
SQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SAAS : 2 years
