Database Administrator
Responsibilities
The Database Administrator will be within the Partners Infrastructure Database and Middleware team which provides database support, middleware management, and maintains IT policies and standards. This position is responsible for monitoring the database health, identifying the issue, and performance troubleshooting down to SQL code level.
Basic Qualifications
5+ years’ experience on TSQL and PLSQL performance tuning on code level with the ability to quickly identify where the issue is and fix the issue
5+ years’ experience with MS SQL performance troubleshooting from instance level with ability to identify where the bottleneck is and provide solutions
Familiarity with architecture of Oracle MS SQL 2008 and 2014 and each components
5+ years’ experience with Perl or Python and the ability to write script with those languages
Familiarity with Linux or any flavor of UNIX such as AIX or Solaris
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate technical issues and solutions to peers and external vendors
Middleware support and troubleshooting experience such as IIS and .Net
Java or C# development knowledge including familiarity with development frameworks
Familiarity with NoSQL database such as Mongo DB
Ability to work flexible schedule including nights/weekends
Preferred Qualifications
Familiarity with Java, java containers
Familiarity with C#, ASP.net and IIS
ETL process development experience on SSIS preferred
Required Education
Bachelor’s degree with a technical major or equivalent work experience
