Manage team of four database administrators including day to day activities, budget, performance appraisals and staff development.
Establish standards, guidelines and procedure governing global database administration. Define good practices.
Serve as technology leader of database administration for Oracle, MS SQL software, and Intergraph SmartPlant Oracle environment.
Perform technical vendor management for Oracle and Microsoft database technologies.
Ensure availability and data integrity of database environment.
Provide lead technical expertise and support of critical Oracle database systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Computer Science or Engineering or other related discipline. Master’s degree preferred but not required.
Minimum 10 years as a database administrator.
DBA managerial experience and experience in a highly regulated environment is a plus.
Technical knowledge of Oracle and database sizing, tuning, and performance management in Unix and Windows environments, MS SQL database sizing, tuning, performance management, MS SQL cluster management and SQL reporting required.
Ability to serve as an expert (SME) and guide others in the resolution of the most complex incidents and problems.
Disaster recovery and high availability using Oracle Dataguard and RAC
Experience with MS SQL server consolidations, and experience in a virtualized environment.
