Microsoft SQL Server Database Administrator
Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support our enterprise applications
Ensure proactive monitoring of the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime
Conduct performance tuning/troubleshooting of our SQL environments
Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollouts and upgrades
Participate in the production support activities on a 24 hours and 7 day basis
Skill Requirements:
Experience of managing multiple SQL instances and versions on large systems
Strong SQL skills including the ability to rewrite complex queries to improve performance
Experience in monitoring and tuning databases to provide highly available services
Practical experience in managing database security
Strong self-sufficiency and initiative working on database projects
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Mechanical Engineering or other related field
5 to 7 years of supporting SQL Databases in large enterprise environments
2 to 3 years’ experience with SQL Server clustering
3 years or more experience in design, development and support of large databases
