SQL Server Database Administrator
Specific Duties & Responsibilities:
Building and administering database and application environments in a high availability architecture with thousands of Microsoft SQL databases
Executing database backup and recovery operations, database patching and upgrades, and implementation of database security policies
Developing automation inside and outside the SQL Server framework
Performing troubleshooting, resolution, and root cause analysis for database and application specific incidents
Executing database performance analysis and tuning
SSRS reports development, SSIS package development
Maintaining and enhancing database maintenance routines
Partnering with project technical leads and development teams to execute technical solutions in line with customer expectations and company strategic goals
Ensuring compliance with, maintaining, and enhancing standard practices and processes
Executing performance testing and benchmarking
Integrating SQL systems with third-party tools and environments
Documenting policies, processes, and procedures
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related work experience
3 – 5+ years of experience in Microsoft SQL Server Database Administration on systems up through 2012 on both clustered and standalone platforms
Expertise in backup and recovery processes, performance troubleshooting and tuning, clustering, replication, and SSRS reports/SSIS package development
Experience in zero downtime, cloud based deployments
Experience administering large, high-availability production systems
Experience working in a fast-paced, highly demanding technical environment
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Outstanding organization, time management, and interpersonal skills
