DB2 Database Administrator
Responsibilities
Assist in the design, development and execution of DB2 triggers, and associated stored procedures
Assist in the design, development and execution of any integration with PeopleSoft Oracle databases using “Oracle Transparent Gateway for DRDA” and “Oracle Database Provider for DRDA”
Assist in the maintenance and support of the current DB2 database that supports the legacy mainframe system (MEBEL)
Assist the application development Data Cleansing staff by properly executing database fixes for the data cleansing effort
Assist the Redesign project staff in efforts requiring DB2 knowledge and expertise
Ensure the supervising OSC CIO DBA is made aware of emerging issues dealing with any of the DB2 database environments associated with the Project
Assist Redesign Project staff in development, implementation, and maintenance of detailed technical designs, and procedures for data modeling, capacity planning, performance analysis, tuning, monitoring, change control, and database management in accordance with OSC’s existing systems standards as well as any other applicable standards
Assist in proactive monitoring, diagnosing, and correcting database problems, i.e. data corruption, contention, incorrect indexes, CPU utilization, etc.
Assist in the development of backup, recovery and contingency/disaster planning for any Retirement- and Redesign-related DB2 components
Prepare person-day estimates for project planning purposes
Qualifications
Requirements
Four years of demonstrated experience of administering DB2 environments in a mainframe environment.
Demonstrated experience using “Oracle Transparent Gateway for DRDA” and “Oracle Database Provider for DRDA”;
Demonstrated experience creating and maintaining DB2 triggers and called stored procedures; development using Data Studio is a plus;
Demonstrated experience with Oracle PeopleSoft HCM, CRM and FIN.
