Oracle Database Administrator
The Oracle DBA must have performed requirements of an Oracle DBA with specific technical skills and experience with Oracle 11g, including RAC, RMAN, ASM, Server Administration, Grid/Cloud Control and related experience. The Oracle DBA will interface with a diverse range of colleagues from technology, business and project management teams. The Oracle DBA will perform the following primary duties:
•Maintain and set up environments on multiple platforms across the enterprise
•Deploy, administer and provide operational support of the development, system test, training, UAT and production environments
•Monitor resource usage, making required recommendations and adjustments
•Participate in on-call production support activities
•Recommend improvements to facilitate better management and monitoring of the environment
•Proactively create procedures to prevent and reduce the severity of outages
•Assist with the installation, configuration and management of the Linux infrastructure
•Develop and document nightly batch processes and setup of jobs with dependencies in the scheduling tool
•Proactively create procedures to prevent and reduce the severity of outages
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Red Hat Linux System Administration
•3-5 years of experience with Oracle 11g, including RAC, RMAN, ASM, Server Administration
•Experience with Oracle Data Guard and Grid/Cloud Control
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience with demonstrated experience with implementation, management and operational support of WebSphere Application Server environment
•Minimum of 3 years’ experience Red Hat Linux System Administration
•Trouble Shooting Skills (Network, Servers, Enterprise Diagnoses)
•Experience supporting a 24/7/365 Production environment
•Experience with a flavor of Unix type operating systems (Red Hat Linux is required)
•Fluent with a flavor of Unix shell scripting
•Experience with highly available WebSphere Application Server cluster solutions
•Experience in WebSphere Application Server application design and solution
•Some experience with VM Ware technology – vSphere, Site Recovery Manager
•Experience in Microsoft server 2008
