Database Administrator
Primary owner of MySQL databases and NoSQL technologies like MongoDB and Cassandra
Work with release management team to ensure schema changes are applied correctly for a given release
Implement proper monitoring and maintenance plans on all database systems
Perform database performance tuning and optimization as suggested by statistics gathered, such as improving poorly written queries, rebuilding/updating table indices and statistics, managing data archives, reconfiguring default configurations, and other database tuning processes that help to improve performance
Setup and manage replication and cluster topologies for high-availability and horizontal scaling
Improve database backup procedures for NoSQL and MySQL databases
Support all data access requests
Four to seven years of previous database administration experience.
Experience working with MySQL/NoSQL databases.
Linux command line proficiency.
Ability to effectively communicate and work with teams in multiple locations.
Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
Flexible mindset to adapt to changing environments.
Experience working in an Agile software development environment.
