Junior Database Administrator
Day to day management of database operations for a 24x7 e-commerce web site
Participate in the 24x7 on-call rotation
Support our developer’s agile processes, including schema reviews and query tuning
Monitor and maintain schema objects
Build admin tools and help develop our database automation
2-3 years MySQL (including 5.5 and/or 5.6) administration, configuration and tuning
1-2 years programming with one or more of the following: ruby, perl, python, bash, php
1-2 years logical and physical database design/modeling
1-2 years experience with Linux operating systems (RedHat/Fedora/CentOS preferred)
Demonstrable experience analyzing explain plans
Bachelors degree in CS or equivalent concentration OR 2 years experience as a junior DBA
Strong communication skills, both written and oral
The ability to adapt quickly to an existing, complex environment
The ability to multi-task and support multiple priorities and expectations
Experience with Opscode Chef or other configuration management systems
Understanding of the Percona toolkit and the Percona server distribution
Experience with hadoop and hbase
Experience with Microsoft SQL Server
