Microsoft SQL Database Administrator
Install and maintain Microsoft SQL databases and transformation packages.
Install and maintain DBMS server software. Manage upgrade processes.
Implement modifications and improvements to existing databases to increase performance, user-friendliness, and stability.
Interpret user requests on database changes, updates, and restores; perform appropriate actions.
Handle source control and configuration management issues.
Implement standards for data security and integrity.
Responsible for DB backup and restoration in the event of disaster or as assistance to staff.
Advise developers in database table design, champion development and design standards.
Perform other related projects and tasks as required.
Work Experience: Professional DBA experience required, including experience with Microsoft T-SQL stored procedures, configuration management and source control (Team Foundation Server)performance management, creation and management of ISS and ETL packages. Minimum 3 years intensive experience working with modern DBMS tools as a DBA.
Education, Certificates, Licenses, Registration: AA or BS in Computer Science or equivalent combination of well-rounded education and experience. System vendor certifications such as MSDE, MCDBA, or similar required.
