SQL Server Database Administrator
Experience with data management and data processing flowcharting techniques.
Knowledge of reporting and query tools and practices.
Good understanding of the organizations goals and objectives.
Self motivated and directed, with keen attention to detail.
Able to prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment.
Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Experience supporting data warehouse environments.
Experience in call center/contact center environments a plus.
Experience with Microstrategy a plus.
Having worked in an on-call DBA 24/7 rotation that supports multiple RDBMS environments.
Linux experience, OEL or Red Hat preferred (v5ux).

Knowledge of 3rd party DBA tools and applications (e.g CONFIO - Ignite.)
Experience in installation, configuration and upgrading SQL Servers.
Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, replication issues, log shipping issues, connectivity issues, security issues etc.
Experience in Performance Tuning, Query Optimization, using Performance Monitor, SQL Profiler, DMVs, and other related monitoring and troubleshooting tools.
Ability to detect and troubleshoot SQL Server related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other resource contention.
Strong knowledge of database and transaction backups, restores, recovery modes, database and file shrink operations, DBCC commands, clustering, database mirroring, and replication types.
Expert experience in setting up SQL Agent Jobs and DBAMail.
Strong knowledge of creating and altering indexes, index management, integrity checks, configuration, patching. How statistics work, how indexes are stored, how they can be created and managed effectively.
Experience in efficient TSQL tuning/debugging and SQL tuning.
Knowledge of SQL Server tools (SQL Profiler, DTA, SSMS, SAC, SSCM, PerfMon, DMVs, system procedures).
Solid acquaintance with windows server, security delegation, SPNs, storage components.
Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology etc )
BE or BS Degree in one of the following subject areas: Computer Science, Business Administration, Information Technology or related field preferred
Has 5+ years of experience in database administration and support in MS SQL Server environments.
2 -3 years IT operation with strong understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
Understanding of, and experience with, server-client computing and relational database environments.
Strong Database Administration experience in SQL Server version: 2005 and 2008.
Oracle DBA knowledge and experience a plus
