Database Administrator
Perform installations across production environments by running validated study installation scripts and packages.
Provide primary support for Development and Test business units by supporting ticketed requests.
Perform database backup/restores as necessary.
Work intimately with performance/load testing resources to evaluate test results.
Provide expert assistance to Sr. / System Developers, to ensure that development efforts do not adversely affect production operations.
Provide guidance to Development as consultant providing expertise balancing business process needs and SQL best practices.
Support project teams by providing SQL code review.
Participate as database performance and best practice consultant on platform architecture projects.
Ensure that proper database permissions are set for each environment
Setup and monitor all necessary database backup jobs
Complete database archivals at completion of studies
Ensure all company SOPs and Work Instructions pertaining to data backup and recovery are adhered to
Create, support the creation of, and support the maintenance of SQL objects for development, test, staging and production environments including Stored Procedures and Triggers.
Create and support SQL objects to help streamline and improve system performance
Identify and support the resolution of application problems that may affect the SQL environment.
Provide after hours on-call support for critical database issues.
Implement and maintain a maintenance plan for the SQL environment.
Develop and manage a suite of utilities that manage, maintain and report SQL Server performance.
Monitor error logs, database and log space, user activity and resource utilization of production environment.
Administrative Responsibilities
Work independently on concurrent, multiple tasks and projects.
Work effectively with cross-functional leadership.
Communicate and collaborate effectively with staff of varying technical levels of expertise.
Establish or recommend training of staff members.
Setup and maintain documentation and standards.
BA or BS in Computer Science/MIS/Information Sciences or equivalent credentials in a technical discipline or relevant work experience
0-2 years experience as a DBA with Microsoft SQL Server
Experience as a DBA and/or Developer with Microsoft SQL Server 2008 a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting 24x7 environments.
Knowledge of IVR systems a plus.
Experience with T-SQL and stored procedure/development expertise
