Junior Database Administrat
• Document new and existing databases and database applications as directed by the Senior Database Administrator
• Work with the Senior Database Administrator to design, code, and deploy database applications
• Train all levels of staff to use database applications
• Work with business units to produce operational and analytical reports
• Assist in the evaluation, implementation and integration of externally developed software
• Ensure that database backups occur in a reliable and regular manner
• Monitor operational disk usage and other operational indicators of database servers, follow automated and manual maintenance procedures
• Work in conjunction with IT staff, consultants, vendors and other external support resources to install upgrades and patches and to achieve rapid problem resolution
• Special projects as needed
• BA/BS in Information Technology or related field required
• Prior technological experience a plus
• Understanding of database fundamentals
• High proficiency in Microsoft Access required
• Experience writing technical documentation as well as user and training manuals a plus
• Ability to interact with all levels of staff and managers required
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skill
