Sr. Database Administrator (SQL Server)
Designs and maintains database structures and coordinates or performs installation, configuration and troubleshooting of SQL 2008 R2, SQL 2008, 2005 and 2000 servers.
Implement SQL Server high availability/DR solutions like Clustering, Database mirroring, Log Shipping and Replication
Supporting SQL server reporting service (SSRS), SQL Server Analysis Service (SSAS) and SQL Server Integration Service (SSIS)
Member of Tier II DBA team which provides 24x7 supports of over 100 production database servers.
Developing T-SQL scripts/PowerShell scripts/SSRS reports for database maintenance purpose
Deploying and troubleshooting SSIS/DTS packages with a multitude of Data sources and complex data conversion logics
Manage backup/recovery strategy for all production database servers
Proactively monitor and profile production database servers for load and performance bottlenecks and provide solutions for query optimization and performance tuning
Provide recommendations for new server design, storage requirement and database design
Support of other RDMS systems like Oracle 10G and 11G
Implement server wide database security settings
Provide code reviews and database design recommendations for development team.
Provide production database change management supports
Qualifications:
7+ years of database administration experiences support Microsoft SQL Server
Advance knowledge of all facets of SQL 2008 R2, SQL 2008, SQL 2005 and SQL 2000
Expert knowledge in SQL failover clustering and SSRS installation, configuration and maintenance
Must know TSQL and have experience in automating tasks through complex scripts
Good understanding of SSIS packages design, development and implementation
Knowledge in data warehouse, SSAS and other ETL processes is a plus
Knowledge in SQL Server 2012 is a plus
Previous knowledge of supporting Oracle 10G and 11G is a plus
Familiar with supporting database in VMware servers, Windows OS (2008 R2, 2008 and 2003), EMC VNX Storage and SharePoint (2010 and 2007)
BS in Computer-related field preferred
Microsoft SQL Server certification preferred
