Database Administrator
Creates and maintains accounts and passwords to ensure integrity of data and prevents illegal and/or unauthorized access of information by other applications or users
Creates backup policies and ensures data is backed up IAW with defined standards
Oversees and ensures that the security of the database is not compromised; i.e. prevents inadvertent leaks of information such as social security numbers, financial information, or other types of confidential or secured data in accordance with AF and DoD Agency guidance
Maintain and update instances on UNIX, Microsoft Windows Server, Linux, HP-UX and Open VMS Systems, Solaris including software installation, hardware and design, and enterprise standards and environment documentation
DBA must also perform Server Administration Support roles such as system administration functions for Microsoft Windows Server, Unix, HP-UX, Linux, and Dec Alpha servers
Security + Certification
4 years of experience in the IT related fields
