Database Administrator
* Controls the activities related to database planning and development:
* Creates backups, edits indexes and performs installations and upgrades.
* Creates tables and is involved in the design of the basic structure of the database.
* Assists with establishing policies and procedures pertaining to database management, security, maintenance and utilization.
* Sets and monitors standards
* 10+ years relevant working experience including expertise in database administration
* Expert Knowledge of database administration, programming and systems analysis procedures.
* Excellent knowledge of database software and various unix / linux OS’s.
* Ability to create and edit shell scripts.
* Excellent communications, writing and editing skills needed to transfer information to individuals involved in development process.
* Detailed knowledge of storage systems.
* Technologies: Oracle, Solaris, Sun, Redhat, NetApp
