Database Administrator
* Providing day to day administration of cloud based databases: refreshes and upgrades, performance monitoring, application support and optimization, backup and recovery
* Troubleshooting and resolving database related errors and failures
* Database design, query processing/optimization, performance tuning, index tuning, cache and buffer tuning
* Knowledge/experience in scripting and creating automated tools for data refresh and update
* Supporting company and database growth by offering insights into scaling, replication, and sharding
* Working knowledge and/or extended course work of database administration
* Between 2-4 years of relevant experience
* Attentive to detail
* Good communication skills
* Knowledge/experience of database scalability
* Knowledge/experience with multiple database systems (MySQL, PostgreSQL, etc)
* Knowledge of cloud based database services (Amazon RDS, Heroku, etc)
* Knowledge of at least one scripting language (Python, Perl, PHP, etc)
* Shell scripting
