Sr. Database Administrator
Responsible for the definition creation and maintenance of the enterprise data model within the various computing environments (e.g. Unix NT intranet Web). Analyzes tests and implements physical database design supporting various business applications (including base definition structure documentation long-range requirements operational guidelines). Ensures data recovery maintenance data integrity and space requirements for physical database(s) are met through formulations and monitoring of policies procedures and standards relating to database management. Provides a high degree of coordination between user technical application and corporate entities to ensure effective data management as a corporate enterprise. Ensures solutions meet business objectives.
Requirements:
Education: A Bachelors Degree in Computer Science Engineering Science and Math or related discipline with an IT emphasis is required. A graduate degree in Technology Business or Management is a preferred.
Experience: Minimum 5 years of continuous experience in the following: Hands-on experience installing configuring and/or maintaining database data transformation and business intelligence systems. Experience designing and implementing the Database platform to support a global SAP ERP implementation. Experience designing and implementing database replication and clustering technologies including but not limited to Oracle Streams Oracle logical stand by and Oracle 11G RAC Proven ability to support multi-terabyte database environments. Proven ability to Data warehouse and ODS environment on Oracle 10G. Enterprise O/S (Unix Linux and MS Windows) Experience working with Oracle SQL server Sybase IQ and UDB-DB2 databases Understanding of IBM and EMC Storage Systems and Cisco UCS IBM and HP Systems/Servers and virtualization Technologies. ? Solid RDBMS knowledge (e.g. Oracle SQL Informix DB2 Sybase) ? Design development implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems preferably across multiple hardware and software platforms Good communications skills including strong verbal written and presentation skills. Extensive experience in UNIX (Solaris HP-UX AIX and Linux)and Windows based operating systems (Windows 2003 Windows 2008 Windows XP Vista and 7) Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components (databases application servers fault tolerant systems cluster server/software etc.) Understanding of Operational challenges and dependencies as they relate to infrastructure decisions. Experience with Enterprise applications and services. Experience with system performance tuning. Sensitivity to Security best practices as related to application architectures.
