The SQL Database Administrator
Responsible for clustering, SSIS, data transfers, replication, and TSQL
Administers security and disaster recovery of databases, including back-up, recovery, security audits, database health checks and disaster recovery testing and planning
Capacity planning, resource utilization analysis, performance tuning including enabling and interpreting SQL profiler output
Designs, implements, and maintains complex databases with respect to system integration, access methods, performance, device allocation, validation checks, protection and security and documentation
Performs database installations, configuration, service pack installs, monitoring, maintenance and version upgrades.
Works incident tickets including problem isolation, analysis, root cause, and solution implementation.
Provides technical support, on call and excellent customer service
Researches and tests new database technologies, share knowledge
Works towards automation and gaining efficiencies
5+ years experience within a technology related field. 3+ years of DBA experience, supporting large-scale production systems and providing technical expertise. Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated ability to work independently and team environments. Oracle and MySQL knowledge is a plus.
