Database Administrator
•Bachelor degree, preferably in Computer Science, with a minimum 5 years database and programming experience in systems and applications environments.
•2-5 years’ experience leading complex database and applications development/integration projects and serving as an effective facilitator of issues driving these projects.
Must have the ability and experience to manage multiple and simultaneous priorities across projects.
•Demonstrated experience applying analytical methods, critical thinking, problem-solving and listening skills.
•Ability to effectively communicate (written and verbally) to customers of varying levels of technical expertise.
•Ability to self-start and to work, often collaboratively with others toward a set of broadly-defined goals. Ability to quickly develop competence with little or no training/oversight. Must have the ability to manage and participate in multiple and simultaneous priorities within cross-functional project teams.
•Strong knowledge and experience with databases including security practices, backup and recovery tactics and performance monitoring.
Preferred:
•Knowledge of integration software desired, such as Oracle SOA along with experience with Oracle middle-tier Weblogic software.
•Along with Oracle RDBMS, knowledge of additional database administration desired, such as MySQL and Sequel Server
•Experience managing or administration of UNIX servers, experience using Windows servers is a benefit.
•Knowledge of reporting tools desired, such as Oracle OBIEE and EPM (Hyperion)
•Knowledge and understanding of client/server applications, networking, database management systems, object-oriented design and construction, distributed applications, Puppet, Subversion, Apache, & Kerberos desired.
•Knowledge of project management methodologies helpful.
•Knowledge and experience working with Agile development methodologies and Cloud Computing concepts and designs.
