SQL Server Database Administrator
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related field and five (5) years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server administration.
Experience in and an inclination toward a “team development” work environment; must possess demonstrated ability to install, configure, monitor and troubleshoot SQL databases; knowledge of Windows 2003 and 2008 Advanced Server including Windows performance monitoring; have a general understanding of computer networking technologies (protocols, physical connectivity, recovery, etc.); comprehensive understanding and skills for SQL server performance tuning, backup and recovery, index maintenance, and troubleshooting deadlock and/or blocking issues; possess in depth knowledge of SQL Management Studio, Business Intelligence Studio, Profiler, and Performance Monitor; a fluency in and development experience with “Information Schema” objects and “Dynamic Management Views” SQL Server 2005 and 2008 R2 DBMS, Integration Services and Reporting Services database design, development and administrator experience.
Designs, installs, maintains, and enhances both physical and logical databases for specific applications considering client needs, information security, and cost effectiveness. Provides technical expertise to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve production support issues for the database, web and application servers. .
