Database Administrator
• Analyze stored data and implement appropriate strategies to optimize performance and efficiency
• Handle targeted performance review requests from developers and application support staff
• Identify and resolve project issues
• Develop data management methodologies and standards
• Develop and deliver data architecture and standards in conjunction with business requirements
• Configure hardware and software with system administrators for optimal database performance
• Provide guidance and assistance for maintenance and support of production databases
• Data modeling and optimization to take the most advantage of the I/O subsystem
• Ensure documentation for data architecture and environment is current
• Establish methods and procedures for tracking data quality, completeness, redundancy, and improvement
• Ensure that data strategies and architectures are in regulatory compliance
• Provide input into new and existing projects relative to MS SQL Server
• Must demonstrate "soft skills" including: verbal and written communication at the level appropriate for the audience, management of time, the ability to work with others in a team environment, and management of the project milestones
* Bachelor's degree (B.S.) or equivalent and five or more years managing MS SQL Server databases.
• Read and comprehend simple correspondence; read and interpret less straightforward material such as activity reports, procedure manuals, and non-standard letters
• Read, analyze, and interpret highly specialized technical, professional or legal papers
• Write simple correspondence as well as more complex material such as progress reports, detailed forms, procedures and non-standard letters and memos
• Write complex materials such as special reports, position papers, or project/policy proposals
• Use spreadsheet, database, word processing or financial software to enter, edit or retrieve data
• Analyze software problems/develop original programs
