Database Architect
* Participates in the evaluation, design, implementation, maintenance, support, and enhancement of sophisticated database systems and technologies
* Manage all levels of database security and integrity, transaction activity and utilization
* Responsible for defining and documenting policies, procedures, and standards related to database administration
* Responsibilities include troubleshooting, recovery, tuning of the database, software installation, resolving Oracle errors and failures, and resource utilization
* Facilitate database backup and recovery as well as documenting and testing all backup and recovery procedures
* Responsible for service level availability for all production and non-productions Oracle environments
* Duties include solving production problems in a timely manner, including off hours and weekend support when necessary
* Managing a 7x24 Production support environment, on-call support, including coordinating an managing maintenance activities
* Assists vendor support services as well as IT team members to quickly resolve problems
* As an application operations team member, responsible for carrying out periodic maintenance activities
* Duties include periodic refreshes of large databases, data archival, migration and database consolidation
* Formulate and monitor policies, procedures, and standards relating to database and application management
* Responsible for managing and providing support for periodical external and internal audit activities
* Responsible for working with collaboration with all members of IT including Infrastructure team to ensure successful application and database implementations
* 8+ years of experience with Oracle database administration activities
* Installing, configuring & patching Oracle RAC 10g/11g
* Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) installation, configuration & administration
* Experience in performing backup and restoring oracle databases using RMAN
* Oracle data guard installation and administration, other replication tools such as Golden Gate, Oracle streams is a plus
* Oracle 11g OEM GC for administration, monitoring & performance analysis of Oracle products
* Install and maintain Oracle 10/11GR1/11GR2 software
* Configure, implement and maintain Multiple Oracle Instances with multi-node RAC under AIX, Linux
* Establish and maintain backup and recovery processes
* Monitoring and performance tuning of Oracle databases with GRID control
* Strong working experience managing databases on AIX and Linux is essential
* Experience with Oracle database administration within a large scale database environment (multi-terabyte)
* Well-versed in performance tuning, data replication, disaster recovery, upgrades, patching, and security management
* Experience with disaster recovery strategies including Data Guard
* Ability to analyze Oracle AWR and Wait Interface data
* Knowledge of industry best practices for database security, designing and tuning is a must
