Database Administrator
Assist in designs and development of enterprise-wide systems and/or applications software back end requirements. Evaluates interface between software, operational requirements, and the back end data management of the overall system.
Implements and maintains smooth operation and physical design of databases. Conducts performance tuning of indexes and databases in general. Reviews database design and integration of systems, provides backup recovery and makes recommendations regarding enhancements and/or improvements. Maintains security and integrity controls. Formulates policies, procedures, and standards relating to database management, and monitors transaction activity and utilization. May develop stored procedures and/or triggers.
8+ Years with HS or 5+ Years with AA or 2+ Years with BS
experience in ORACLE 10g/11g, SQL,PL/SQL, UNIX, LINUX, SHELL, Perl Scripts. Development and maintenance of Stored Procedures/Packages using PL/SQL Tables and collections, triggers, database creation and maintenance, conversions and upgrades. Performance and tuning experience will be plus. Desirable to have experience in Programming Java, PRO*C (Embedded C), and 'C++' language. Ability to write scripts for database changes in schema, stored procedures, triggers, etc. Write custom scripts in short time for customer needs using SQL, PL/SQL in UNIX, test and deliver with instructions and support the execution process. Knowledge of copying databases form one system to another, unloading loading data to and from databases and writing scripts for such activities are added advantage. Experience in Oracle RAC are desirable.
