MySQL DBA/BI Engineer
• Working closely with a business analyst to define and execute business intelligence deliverables such as reports, cubes, models, etc.
• Implementing and using one or more BI tools for ETL, modeling, reporting, dashboards, OLAP, and big data analysis.
• Extracting data from SQL, file and NOSQL production systems, transforming, and loading into reporting systems.
• Modeling data in star schemas or other ways as needed for reporting and analysis
• Working with operations to schedule ETL jobs and reports.
• Evaluating and selecting BI tools
• Working with BIG data sets
• Staying current on new technology and techniques in the BI space.
• Scaling database layer on multiple web applications
• Query optimization
• MySQL and the Percona toolkit
• Unix
• MapReduce or other similar technologies to query large datasets.
• Ruby or similar languages
• Data Modeling
• Experience working with Agile processes like XP, Scrum, Kanban, or Lean.
