Database Administrator
The purpose of the position is to work with data modeling and development teams to create new databases, replicate data across platforms, monitor and manage the databases in production, perform tuning and analysis, provide space estimates and grant data level access privileges. This position has knowledge of the specific database platform(s). May manage small projects, designs, implements and supports moderate sized databases with minimal supervision. Defines, and implements database backup/recovery and security strategies as well as other monitoring activities.
Partner with Sr. DBA's to create physical database structures for small projects based on physical design for development, test, and production environments. Become proficient in advanced database structures, physical design and development.
Partner with Sr. DBA's and system engineers to configure servers for DBMS product installation and small database creation.
Configure and maintain DBMS product software on small database and application servers.
Provide on-call support for assigned databases 7 X 24 to include being able to investigate and troubleshoot problems.
