Senior Oracle Database Administrator
Work with a full range of business applications including multi-terabyte data warehouses and data marts, financial systems using PeopleSoft software and Essbase, Customer Relationship Marketing and Store facing Online Transactional systems.
Provide guidance at several yearly off-site disaster recovery exercises. Provide secondary level production support for over 1000 Microsoft SQL Server databases. Act as the primary database contact for several technical projects at any time, including attending all project meetings, representing the database administration team and interfacing with the project leader and project team, advising on the use of the database software, database design, functions, standards, installation and patching of the RDBMS, database creation in the development, testing and production environments, security and tuning.
Responsible for creating all application database objects, creation and scheduling of all needed database administration batch jobs, monitoring, backup and production readiness. Coach other database administrators and assist in the creation and documentation of new environments, standards and procedures.
Research new software releases and features and present these to the rest of the team. Participate in a production support rotation that provided support for all production databases 24 X 7. Responsible for approximately ten production databases.
Requirements:
Minimum Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and 5 years experience in Database Administration or Master’s degree or foreign equivalent in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems or related field and 1 year of experience in Database Administration.
