DBA & Business Applications Engineer
* Database maintenance and security administration,
* Database backups and restorations
* Database performance tuning
* Maintain database test environments
* Assist with needs analysis, business plans and requirement definitions
* Provide project management resources for custom and OTS applications
* Manage consultants for custom and OTS database applications
* Develop and execute test plans for patch deployment, OTS software, and custom developed software
* Postmortem project analysis
* Plan for and assist with retirement of an application
* Create standards, policies, and procedures and ensure training is provided for IT internal SOP’s
* Disaster recovery / Business Continuity planning
* BS in IT/IS or related field required.
* Minimum 3 years in IT in database management (Microsoft SQL) and applications support in pharma or related industry.
* Familiarity with Microsoft applications, including Great Plains, Report Writer, SharePoint preferred.
* Knowledgeable in the following areas: Project management, DBMS, application security, core application systems (HRIS, ERP, etc.), process improvement methodologies, root cause analysis (RCA).
* Ability to communicate effectively and to translate internal customer requirements into IT solutions.
* Enjoy working in a small team environment with a wide variety of tasks.
