Database Administrator
a full-time Database Administrator. The Database Administrator is responsible for the maintenance, reliability, security, and performance of the University's Oracle Application Servers and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems. With other members of the Enterprise Systems Administration team, the Database Administrator ensures that Oracle Application Servers and ERP systems are highly available, technically current and seamlessly integrated. The incumbent must effectively coordinate activities with the Sr. Database Administrator, application development team, networking staff, systems administrators and key stakeholders from the University community.
This position requires a Baccalaureate degree in computer science or related field. The qualified candidate must possess excellent problem-solving, organization, project management and professional skills, as well as excellent interpersonal, written, and oral skills. One to two years experience is required to include a combination of any, and/or all of the following areas:
- Oracle Database Administration and Administration of other Oracle technologies including OWB, PL/SQL, Application Server, Discoverer, Fusion Middleware, RAC, Grid Control
- Shell Scripting in Unix, Linux, Solaris
