Oracle Database Administrator, DBA
* Reporting to the Manager of DBA Services, this position will be responsible for:
* Working as an integral member of a experienced and diverse technology team
* Working with UNIX system engineers, Windows engineers, Sales Staff and Business Solutions Managers in a team services engagement
* Maintaining and supporting internal and customer databases in a 24x7 production environment
* Responding to customer related RDBMS problems and inquiries
* Installing, configuring and maintaining database software, patches, upgrades and utilities
* Planning, leading and implementing the installation, configuration and integration of the RDBMS Software in relation to:
* Internet/Intranet applications (IIS, Apache, Netscape, Silverstream)
* Remedy Call Center/Trouble Ticket System
* Document Management Systems
* Internal business systems (billing, asset management, inventory, time accounting)
* Working with customers to define database layout, replication, storage management and backup and restore design requirements
* 5 to 8 years experience with the Oracle RDBMS
* Some SQL/PLSQL programming experience
* Strong experience with the UNIX or Windows operating systems
* Effective interpersonal and communication skills
* Effective time management
* Analytical thinking
* Meeting/workshop facilitation
* Creative problem-solving
* Solid understanding of internet technologies and business models
A Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline is required. MS/MBA desirable. 10 or more years of experience in a similar role.
