Database Administrator
The Database Administrator will be responsible for administering production databases in a 24x7 environment mainly on Windows servers. Many of these databases are mission critical to both internal and external clients. The DBA and their team are responsible for the ongoing maintenance, failure avoidance and the detection and repair of oracle databases. He/she is expected to use DBA skills to secure production database uptime and availability. This includes ongoing space maintenance, DB tuning, DB debugging, backup and recovery and configuration maintenance. Some other responsibilities for the DBA position are: install, setup & configure Oracle10g databases, administer & troubleshoot Oracle databases, perform monitoring and general performance tuning as well as perform backup and restore procedures.
* Bachelor’s degree
* 2-5 years of experience with database administration
* Experience in Oracle 10g
* Experience in back-end/front-end programming language, PL/SQL
* Previous consulting experience supporting a Federal Government Agency
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent knowledge of Oracle database architecture and Oracle database fe
