Oracle Database Administrator
# Functioning as part of a team, as well as independently
# Capacity planning, performance tuning and benchmarking of customer’s databases
# Working closely with UNIX engineers, Windows engineers, Sales Staff and Business Solutions Managers to improve customer satisfaction
# Maintaining and supporting internal and customer databases in a 24X7 production environment
# Responding to customer related RDBMS maintenance requests, problems and inquiries
# Installing, configuring and maintaining database software, patches, upgrades and utilities
# Working with TCMs to define database layout, replication, storage management and backup and restore design requirements
# Internet/Intranet applications (IIS, Apache, Netscape, Silverstream)
# Remedy Call Center/Trouble Ticket System
# Document Management Systems
# Internal business systems (billing, asset management, inventory, time accounting)
# Minimum of 5 years experience with the Oracle RDBMS
# Oracle DBA certification preferred
# SQL/PLSQL programming experience
# Experience with RDBMS Backup and Restore scenarios
# Oracle database performance tuning experience a must
# Experience with Oracle Enterprise Manager
# Designed and implemented database replication, Standby Database, Oracle Parallel Server, Parallel Query, Table level partitioning and Multi-Threaded Server
# 5+ years with the UNIX, AIX, Linux and Windows operating systems- fundamental understanding of O/S required.
# Linux/Unix shell scripting required
# Networking Fundamentals (TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, FTP, Load-Balancing, etc)
# Effective interpersonal and communication skills
# Time management, Analytical thinking, and Problem-solving skills
# Methodology development
# Solid understanding of internet technologies and business models
