Database Administrator
Define database security standards.
Drive compliance against the defined security standards.
Mentor other DBAs in connection with security development objectives.
Troubleshoot production problems related to security controls and working effectively with other team members to identify and address problems.
Scripting for security monitoring and to automate routine tasks.
Performing security data reporting and analysis to provide management with timely and accurate information.
Research, testing and coordinating security products and patches or upgrades.
Testing of new features or 3rd party tools.
Interacting with Vendor support to resolve issues.
Technical Knowledge:
Knowledge of DB2 Security
Knowledge of Oracle 11g, 10g.
Expert knowledge of Oracle/DB2 security.
Expert knowledge of UNIX - AIX, Solaris, Linux
Expert knowledge of UNIX shells - Korn shell, bash, perl.
Strong SQL skills. Ability to code packages and procedures.
Expertise in backup and recovery and fail-over methods and best practices.
Clear understanding of RDBMS fundamentals.
Ability to write clear documentation of operating procedures, and ability to write specifications for applications to be developed in relation to security components.
Exceptional communication, problem solving, and teamwork skills.
Extremely detail-oriented and able to follow clear methodologies for troubleshooting and development.
Ability to support and work within standard software development life cycle practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline.
