SQL Server DBA
Responsibilities:
* Working directly with developers on related database initiatives, and validating the scaling model and application performance
* Reviewing schema design and data definitions for production data warehouse systems
* Evaluating and recommending database hardware and software
* Monitoring and performance tuning of production data warehouse database systems
Skills, experience and educational requirements:
* 5+ years experience with high transaction (20+ million rows), multi-terabyte SQL Server and data warehouse databases in a production environment. In particular, specific knowledge of the following applications will be crucial to success (in order of importance):
o SQL Server Database Engine
o SQL Server Integration Services
o SQL Server Reporting Services
o SQL Server Analysis Services
* Solid understanding of major components in data warehouse database architecture
* Experience in database backup, restore, and disaster recovery procedures
* Experience with analyzing, troubleshooting, and tuning databases for performance and efficiency
* Excellent communication skills
* Self-starter, focused, and motivated to be a part of a great team
Related experience and knowledge it would be nice to have:
* Experience with SharePoint, and/or Tableau Server
* Knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments
* Bachelors degree within technology, engineering, or one with a mathematical focus
